I would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you for your participation, creative idea's and wonderful art works. For those of you who are having a break, or continuing with the postcards, please stay in touch, I have certainly enjoyed you all being a part of this collaboration. I hope at some point that we may all be able to come together to share our books and postcards with each other!
For those continuing with the postcards, I believe that Olley has already communicated with you about how you will be continuing with this great project.
For everyone, please if you can, complete the postcards you have in your possession, if this is not possible then simply return to the originating artist as is.
For those who have chosen to change to the Altered Book Collaboration I will send out a group email within the next week to outline the details.
Kym, I would like to thankyou for your wonderful efforts of setting up the blog and continuing to maintain it, it has been a valuable opportunity to share thoughts and art with others and to be able to connect with other collaborators across the country and the oceans - THANKS!!!
To Donna and Olley, a big thankyou to you both for so capably and gently encouraging your respective group members participation - THANKS!!!
Once again......THANKS!!! to all of YOU for your enthusiasm, participation and collaboration!!!
Cheers,
Peta
Kym, I am asuming that the photos on your postcard sent back to Rochelle are of you as a child/teenager. The one second from the left looks alot like Malcolm peering out at us. It looks great & I look forward to seeing the finished "Butterfly" cards. Happy Craeting, Olley.
ReplyDeleteKym I love the photos that you have used and the words which describe you! I am very much looking forward to seeing you again in a couple of weeks, I found the BAVA group so energising last time I was in Biloela!!

Thanks Olley & Peta,

Thanks for your comment :)
That's me on the postcard & Mal has similar features to me in some of my photo's as a child. I had a photo album at my 40th, to share with family & friends and they could all see the children in some of the photo's. I enjoyed that postcard, once I got started & with some inspiration from Peta's, was very excited with the outcome.
Peta ~
Good to hear from you and thankyou for the updated emails also. I should've let you know when I received yours and time has a way of disappearing in this place. I'm keen to show them off. Wasn't sure if you were going to post the butterfly or preferred me too. I have it photgraphed and keen to share it. You did a lovely job creating this postcard. Thankyou Peta. There was a few WOWWWWW's when I showed it to the children, just to feel the creation is interesting. Looking forward to seeing you @ the workshop. Having Fun with ART '08 :)
Hi Kym, I'm thrilled that you like my butterfly! I actually cut the shapes from a painting that was done on canvas in the 1070's, it was one that we brought from a uni student who came to our door selling paintings, the image was of a little bush hut set among tall trees, I don't think it was of great quality! We had it in a shed for a few years then it lived outside for another couple, and because I don't like to throw anything away I saved the pieces of it that had not already disintergrated. To me it was the perfect texture for butterfly wings! It has been sealed with a couple of coats of shellac.
