I'm finally caught up!
















"Control...or lack of it?" - Rochelle's card, began with a little picture of a very 'controlled' looking woman...with a definition of self control printed across her front, she has this "I'm smiling, but my teeth are gritted" look about her...made me think how much we simmer when we have to 'control' our tempers etc...when inside we rage...the photo of the burning hay shed seemed to fit perfectly! a bit of 'unravelled' scrim to represent the unravelling I often feel when things are slipping 'out of control'...and a little charm thingie that says 'Help Me!'


















Here is Kristen's "Music" which was lots of fun, with a copy of a ticket and picture I took at a concert earlier in the year. The free machine stitched treble clefts are my favourite part!

My apologies for the back posting sideways...This is my third attempt and I've run out of patience!!! It's right way up and saved in the file...can't figure it out!! Hope everyone is having fun with their altering...Look forward to seeing what you've all been up to!

    Hi Tracey, love the 'control or lack of' woman....she is only just holding it all in isn't she! I am also intrigued by your free movement sewing, I want to see this postcard in the flesh so I can really examine it...both lovely Tracey, I love your creativity and use of techniques!

    Aww shucks, Thanks Peta....The old free motion sewing is what I feel really comfortable doing...it doesn't show up all that well in the photo. And I could really identify with the little 'control' lady - especially after an hour trying to load the damn post to the blog!!!
    I've plastered on that smile and gritted my teeth once or twice in my time...but haven't we all?!

    I love everyone else's creativity and techniques! This is such a rich & diverse assortment of work - I'm loving seeing it all unfold....

Changes to "The Postcard Collaborations" :)

Hello to all collaborators,
Firstly apologies for this email However, better a little late than never!
I have heard from just about all of you over the past few weeks/months, Thankyou for your emails and phone calls and in some cases face to face conversations! Your feedback about the postcard collab has been thoughtful and in a positive vein.... I now have a fair idea about which group you each want to be involved in....below is what I understand you are each wanting, please check the lists, if you are listed as doing what you want, that's great..no need to contact me, however if you are not where you want to be please let me know, asap.

Phew!!! I think that's it!!
I would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you for your participation, creative idea's and wonderful art works. For those of you who are having a break, or continuing with the postcards, please stay in touch, I have certainly enjoyed you all being a part of this collaboration. I hope at some point that we may all be able to come together to share our books and postcards with each other!
For those continuing with the postcards, I believe that Olley has already communicated with you about how you will be continuing with this great project.
For everyone, please if you can, complete the postcards you have in your possession, if this is not possible then simply return to the originating artist as is.
For those who have chosen to change to the Altered Book Collaboration I will send out a group email within the next week to outline the details.
Kym, I would like to thankyou for your wonderful efforts of setting up the blog and continuing to maintain it, it has been a valuable opportunity to share thoughts and art with others and to be able to connect with other collaborators across the country and the oceans - THANKS!!!
To Donna and Olley, a big thankyou to you both for so capably and gently encouraging your respective group members participation - THANKS!!!
