Having a Crack at Some Photos

Here is Peta's postcard...I really had a lot of fun with this, but took a long time to decide whether or not it was 'finished'.

There's also a quick pic (not the greatest image) of a few of the things I've been doing that have kept me away from altering postcards!
I'm feeling much like Pam...it's more difficult to work over someone else's work than I expected, too! Especially Rochelle's beautiful face!

  2. Peta...hope you like it 'in the flesh' as much! It "talked" to me all night the night it arrived in the mail, and was actually finished the next afternoon - wish I was as easliy inspired by them all! And I really get what you mean about being excited and scared all at once!
I'll pop up another photo of Goondiwindi stuff when I get serious about photographing it all - really should be finding a photography course I think!!
I'll look forward to some pics of your efforts after the weekend!

  3. Tracey, Are the books in your photo hand made or have you covered an existing book in the lovely papers that I see? They look great. Love your completed postcard, Olley.

  4. Thanks Olley, the books are those nice visual art diaries (quill brand I think) that I make a kind of slip cover for - so when you've filled it up you can slip it out and pop in a new one.
Need to get busy with the rest of these postcards - I have to ship all this exhibition stuff at the end of this week, so maybe next week will have to be dedicated to postcards!

For those of you who are having a break, or continuing with the postcards, please stay in touch, I have certainly enjoyed you all being a part of this collaboration. I hope at some point that we may all be able to come together to share our books and postcards with each other!
For those continuing with the postcards, I believe that Olley has already communicated with you about how you will be continuing with this great project.
For everyone, please if you can, complete the postcards you have in your possession, if this is not possible then simply return to the originating artist as is.
For those who have chosen to change to the Altered Book Collaboration I will send out a group email within the next week to outline the details.
Kym, I would like to thankyou for your wonderful efforts of setting up the blog and continuing to maintain it, it has been a valuable opportunity to share thoughts and art with others and to be able to connect with other collaborators across the country and the oceans - THANKS!!!
To Donna and Olley, a big thankyou to you both for so capably and gently encouraging your respective group members participation - THANKS!!!
